Toby Gard changes jobs at the Tomb Raider studio.
Toby Gard, the man who created the Tomb Raider series, has changed jobs at Crystal Dynamics.
When American games develepor Crystal Dynamics built out Tomb Raider Legend, Gard was shired as a consultant. As the games progressed on to Tomb Raider Anniversary – a look back on Gard’s work – the UK games programmer changed jobs to Lead Designer.
Now that the 3rd Tomb Raider title, suffixed Underworld, has been unleashed, Gard has switched again to Cinematic Director.
Search "Toby Gard" on Linkedin and it seems that the games legend is now "leading a design group for an anannounced project".
Since Tomb Raider was first released in 1996, Lara Croft has gone on to become a global brand.
Toby Gard is proud to be known as the man behind Lara Croft. During his stint at game developers, Core Design, he played a key part in developing the original Tomb Raider game.
But he left as soon as the game went out on general release saying he had an issue with Lara´s increasingly sexual image.
