Where it all started! The Tomb Raider series of action-adventure video games (all third person shooters) are all based around the exploits of one female archaeologist from the UK called Lara Croft. Lara Croft has become one of the most famous characters in video game history - a total of 6 games were written by Core Design, and published by Eidos Interactive, which holds the rights to the franchise.
Lara wears tight brown shorts, a blue top, 2 pistol holsters and a carries small brown rucksack. She is known as both a feminist icon and pin up girl.

Tomb Raider is an early example of a 3D video game and was partly responsible for the success of Sony´s Playstation in the late 1990s. Lara is a pretty skillful operative. She can sommersault, roll, climb, swim, dive, and handstand.
The story lines tend to revolve around Lara who is on a quest for some ancient artifact (a la Indiana Jones). Of course, it´s not as easy as finding the mystical object. There are a whole bunch of baddies, aliens and general neerdowells to fight first.
